                     SUMMER FISHING SEASON UNDERWAY!

Ocean temps are finally warming up after a late start and are now in the high 60's and rising.

Bait fish are showing now close to shore and some yellowtail are being caught in kelp paddies and along the shore by San Pablo.

Our client Arturo Casillo was happy with this nice sheepshead and some good size calico.

Lots of halibut are being hauled in from the beaches as well.

t's been a great week for calico bass fishing. All our clients limited out on nice size cabrilla caught on root beer scampis around both San Roque & Asuncion Island.

Water temps have finally started to warm up bringing the fish back inshore. Halibut are being caught off the pier and beaches now, calico's are now off the islands and the first yellowtail were speared just north of San Pablo, officially getting our summer season underway!

MARCH FISHING REPORT

Yellowtail in the 10-20 lb range are still around due to warmer water conditions. Black sea bass are also being caught this month as well as calico, bonita and white fish.

Yellowfin croaker and some halibut are being caught from the beaches and visibility has been good for spearfishing as well.

Abalone season has begun so stop in for an abalone feed!

Leaping Dolphin
Visit Asuncion Island to view thousands of sea lions and nesting sea bird colonies. The sea lions crowd around the panga, follow you barking and frolicking beside the boat providing great photographic opportunities. Snorkeling with the sea lions is an adventure to remember as you come face to face with these playful pinnipeds and watch them gracefully glide around you brushing you as they pass. They are as curious about you as you are about them! You may also experience the wonder of dolphins and porpoises surfing your bow wave and playing around the wake of the panga. From January to May the spectacular gray whales can be seen migrating close to our shores traveling to and from the calving lagoons.
